The other day while reading the book of Hebrews, I came across chapter four which addressed the Sabbath Rest. I came to realize that the Sabbath Rest is where we’ll be with Jesus in our new heavenly home. In Chapter 3, we are reminded how the Israelites were purposely allowed to circle the desert for 40 years because they were a generation that angered God by their rebellion. All through my childhood years, I have always heard that we ought to be set apart and not conformed to this world (Romans12:2). Although I understood what my elders were trying to relay to me, I also felt that they used the verse to keep us from mingling with the other denominations. Yesterday was one of my hardest days. I woke up weighed down and burdened by the challenges facing my family. The stresses of finances, slow to come promises and past regrets threatened to plunge me into a state of depression.
