“Life takes us in so many different directions; never doubt for one minute that I am not with you in spirit. You are always on my mind! You are the one constant in my life who I know is always there. I don’t step often out of fear of feeling my circumstances; but also because so many people rely upon me that I have to keep going. God gives me the strength to keep a positive and supportive attitude. I feel as if I’m in a little garden with a ten-mile radius and within that ten miles I sow, I prune, I support, I feed, and I weed. All are just a little part of life.”
My sister sent this quote to me in an email a few years ago. I’m sure as women we all desire to step out of the ten-mile radius we find ourselves in.
My sister and I are very different. She loves to figure out where to plant her garden as well as plan where the colorful flowers should grow. Me? I love shoes. I like to figure out which pair goes with each outfit and the best color shoes I should wear that day.
Right now your path may be within a ten-mile radius and you are not sure how to walk out of it. You may be surrounded by piles of shoes, not knowing which ones to put on your feet. Or you may find yourself in a garden surrounded by weeds and dirt.
Know this: God has a plan for your bare feet and for your empty garden. He knows what’s best for you. All you have to do is have faith that He will pick out the right shoes or the most colorful flowers that you need to step out of your circle of fear and doubt.
Memory Verse:
“Commit your actions to the Lord, and then your plans will succeed.”
– Proverbs 16:3 (NLT)
Prayer Prompt:
“Father, please help me to be able to walk out of my ten-mile radius, whether it be my garden or my closet of shoes. Show me the best flowers to plant or the most appropriate shoes to wear. Then I will be able to walk out of my radius without fear. Let my flowers or shoes give me courage today to….”
