What is the love of your life? What is the one thing you feel you simply must do? For my 15 year old granddaughter, Cheyenne, it is running. Last year she fell in love with cross country running. When the school team came to the end of that season, she did not hang up her shoes. Instead she started running with the track team and even competing in local races. Recently due to a blow she received to her eye, she was benched. The blow caused blood to pool in and behind the eye. Running could cause the condition to worsen with a chance of losing sight in that eye. So she had to sit her running ... Read the Post
Transitions in the Road
I had to put my rollerblading on hold for about six years while my husband and I were growing our family. I enjoyed rollerblading a lot in my twenties, and it was so nice to finally be able to strap on my blades and hit the pavement. It took me several days of skating for my body and mind to remember how it was done. I also noticed that I was a lot more careful skating than when I was in my twenties. I have a lot more responsibilities as a wife, mother and Jesus disciple; and I have people counting on me. Though I know life will go on as usual even if I did get hurt, I wasn’t going to ... I've Laid Out Your Clothes
Gideon is one of my most favorite characters and I've written about him several times. Gideon was not an obvious warrior. In fact, he pleaded with the Lord that he was the least in all his family! However, God knew that with His strength He could make even Gideon a strong leader! This morning God taught me a fresh lesson that I'm looking forward to putting into practice starting today! Joshua has recently died and yet the children of Israel have already gotten away from serving the Lord their God. As a result of their sin, they were under attack by the Midianites. Under such distress they ... Read the Post
Stay Saved
The other day while reading the book of Hebrews, I came across chapter four which addressed the Sabbath Rest. I came to realize that the Sabbath Rest is where we’ll be with Jesus in our new heavenly home. In Chapter 3, we are reminded how the Israelites were purposely allowed to circle the desert for 40 years because they were a generation that angered God by their rebellion. If you know the story of the Israelites and Moses, you know that these people would drive any leader mad. THEY COMPLAINED ABOUT EVERYTHING. Though they saw the handiwork of God, they lacked faith in Him. Because of ... Read the Post
Good Gifts
God has given me so many wonderful gifts but today I have chosen to tell you about one that recently rocked my world. For years I have prayed that my oldest son, Michael, would come to know God intimately. My prayers went something like this: "Father, You know You have given my son an ability to learn and grasp knowledge with ease. Thank You, Father. Still, Lord, in all of that knowledge he is often a 'prove it to me' person. Please, Lord, I ask that he may hear Your spoken voice. Lord, from the beginning of our relationship You have given me visions and at times spoken aloud to me. I pray ... Read the Post
