I saw a friend tonight stand up in front of the crowd declaring God’s love. The joy, power and comfort of God surrounded her. His light reflected from her and mingled with the fire of Christ burning within her. I know I was staring, but I couldn’t help it. She blazed with God’s goodness. “His Goodness,” I thought!
She was diagnosed with breast cancer only days ago, and she BLAZED with God’s goodness! This woman who has every right to claim fear, mistrust and hurt has never looked so loved, so protected and so comforted. “I will get to know my God as the Great Healer!” she exclaimed.
When she said those words, my spirit felt a tinge of jealousy. She will know God in an intimate way that I’ve never known. God has healed me from many things, but I’ve never feared for my life. How beautiful to watch God prove Himself with your life!
How intimately wonderful to trust Him with your very breath! She knows that He is not done with her, and she is ready to experience this path that He has laid out for her. She walks a secret road that would cripple most. Yet, she has gained strength and energy.
She walks with victory in her hands and faith guiding her every step. She sees this new journey as glorious adventure, and her confidence makes me love and trust my God even more!
Memory Verse:
“Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: ‘The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things!'”
-Psalm 118:15 (NIV)
Prayer Prompt:
“Father, help me to have the confidence and trust in You that I see in my friend. Teach me how to rely on You in every circumstance, especially the ones that will test my faith. Show me how I can shine forth Your goodness in the world, starting with…”
