For the past several weeks I have been participating in a Bible Study authored by Priscilla Shirer entitled, He Speaks to Me. When I began this study, there had not really been a time in my life that I could say God had spoken to me. As I listened to the testimonies in our group, I realized that this is something that I have never experienced in my walk with the Lord.
About five weeks into the study, I attended the Women of Faith conference along with some friends whom I had invited to go with me. During the conference, God provided in some amazing ways, but the most exciting moment came when I very clearly heard God’s voice. Through His Spirit, He prompted me to pray for one of my friends-out loud!
This was something that I was not accustomed to but I knew He was urging me to be obedient. And as I began to pray, the words fell like raindrops and the boldness with which I prayed was not my own. I was so excited to get home and tell my study group that God is faithful.
I have spent the last five weeks learning to listen for His voice and this weekend, He honored the desire of my heart. As I shared with the ladies, I had the privilege of beginning my testimony with, “God spoke to me!”
Memory Verse:
“The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, ‘Samuel! Samuel!’ Then Samuel said, ‘Speak, for your servant is listening.’”
– 1 Samuel 3:10 (NIV)
Prayer Prompt:
“Awesome God, what a privilege it is to have a relationship with You! I long to hear Your voice and pray that You will continually teach me to be a better listener. Speak to me in the area of…”
